Holiday Volunteer Dinner Service to the Homeless in the Skid Row Community (EVENT FULL)

Please join fellow Harvard alums for an afternoon of service this holiday season to prepare and serve dinner to the homeless in the Skid Row community in Downtown Los Angeles at the Midnight Mission. Limited to the first 20 people to RSVP.

Sunday, 2:30 p.m. (we will meet at the security desk on the ground floor of the facility).  Dinner Preparation and Service is from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

The Midnight Mission began in 1914 and is the oldest continuously operating human service organization in the Los Angeles region.  The organization provides a variety of services to the homeless population, including, but not limited to, job education/training, personal hygiene needs, medical care and food.  In 2014, the organization celebrated 100 years of continuous service.  Let’s give back this holiday season!

Parking: There is a secured underground parking structure for volunteers to use on the day of the event.  Volunteers will be directed where to park at or near the entrance to the parking structure.  Once you have parked, take the elevator to the ground floor.       
 
Dress Code: Volunteers must wear t-shirts, long pants, closed toe rubber sole shoes and have his/her hair tied back (no dangly jewelry, shorts, tank tops, skirts or dresses).

Waiver Forms & Donations:  Lisa M. Watanabe-Peagler will contact each person who has RSVP’d for the event on December 18, 2015 via email and send a waiver form that needs to be reviewed, signed and brought by each volunteer with him/her to the event.  She will also send each attendee a list of items that he/she can donate to the organization on the day of the event (copy paper, bath towels, can openers, toilet paper, bottled water, etc.
