margotScience Pub Series #10 - Celebrating our Planet - OUT OF THIS WORLD!

Come celebrate Earth Day with our milestone 10th Science Pub - OUT OF THIS WORLD! - and Dr. Jean-Luc Margot, Ph.D. in Astronomy and Space Sciences from Cornell,  B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Université Catholique de Louvain (Belgium) and current Chair and Professor of the Earth, Planetary, and Space Sciences Department at UCLA.

The Kepler Space Observatory has shown that there likely are tens of billions of Earth-like planets in the Milky Way Galaxy. The profusion of planets suggests that life might be common in the universe. UCLA Professor Jean-Luc Margot has been teaching a course on the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI) in which students design an observing sequence for the Green Bank and Arecibo radio observatories and search for signals of an artificial nature. Join us as Professor Margot discusses his fascinating OUT OF THIS WORLD research!
