4th Annual Holiday/New Year Volunteer Lunch Service to the Homeless in the Skid Row Community
Please join fellow Harvard alums for the fourth year for an afternoon of service this holiday season to prepare and serve lunch to the homeless in the Skid Row community in Downtown Los Angeles at the Midnight Mission. Let’s give back this holiday season. Limited to first 5 volunteers.
The Midnight Mission began in 1914 and is the oldest continuously operating human service organization in the Los Angeles region. The organization provides a variety of services to the homeless population, including, but not limited to, job education/training, personal hygiene needs, medical care and food. In 2014, the organization celebrated 100 years of continuous service.
Date: Wednesday, December 29, 2021
Time: 10:45 a.m. (we will meet at the security desk on the ground floor of the facility). Lunch Preparation and Service is from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Location: The Midnight Mission, 601 South San Pedro Street, LA, CA 90014
Parking: There is a secured underground parking structure for volunteers to use on the day of the event. Volunteers will be directed where to park at or near the entrance to the parking structure. Once you have parked, take the elevator to the ground floor.
Dress Code: Volunteers must wear t-shirts, long pants, closed toe rubber sole shoes and have his/her hair tied back (no dangly jewelry, shorts, tank tops, skirts or dresses).
COVID-19 Information: Although the COVID restrictions have been lifted in most places, The Midnight Mission is a congregate living environment, and we are responsible for caring for those experiencing homelessness. As such, we have an obligation to protect those we serve. Fully vaccinated people are still required to wear masks in homeless shelters in all public areas.

Waiver Forms & Donations: Lisa M. Watanabe-Peagler will contact each person who has RSVP’d for the event via email and send a link where he/she can access the waiver form that needs to be reviewed, signed and submitted ONLINE by each volunteer within 48 hours prior to the event.
