Location: The Los Angeles Athletic Club, 431 W. 7th Street (corner of Olive and 7th), Los Angeles, CA 90014

The Harvard Graduate School of Education (GSE) has just launched a promising strategy for transforming American education. Dean McCartney will discuss the school’s new interdisciplinary Doctor of Education Leadership (Ed.L.D.) program, which brings together faculty from the GSE, Harvard Business School, and the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.

The three year, tuition-free program, which will begin in August 2010 with a class of 25 students, is Harvard’s response to the need for American educational leaders who are as well versed in education issues as they are in the ways of management.

The third-year of the program places students in an internship with a partner organization (e.g., school district, non-profit organization, mission-driven for-profit organization, philanthropic organization, or governmental agency) to assume leadership for a transformative project important to the organization.

Join us for an evening with Harvard’s visionary education school dean. Registration fees are nonrefundable; parking at the Los Angeles Athletic Club is $4.50.

Cost: $25, members; $30, non-members and non-alumni participants
