Alumni Book Talk with Anne Gardner Div ’05
Come join us as fellow Harvard alumna Anne Gardner (Div. '05) recounts the story of her 500-mile walk across Spain on the famed Camino de Santiago. Her 37-day journey inspired her debut book, And So I Walked (Adelaide Books, NY/Lisbon). Part travelogue and part memoir, the book speaks both of the challenges of long-distance hiking and the emotional undercurrents her journey revealed.

After spending twenty-five years working at two of Boston’s premier educational institutions, Harvard University and Phillips Academy, Andover, Reverend Gardner currently leads the chaplaincy program at Harvard-Westlake, a private secondary school in Los Angeles. She also finds time to work as a freelance writer. Her essays and columns have been featured in The National Catholic Reporter, The Boston Globe, The Providence Journal, New England Tennis Magazine, and most recently as part of WBUR’s Cognoscenti series, Boston’s NPR affiliate.
Following her presentation, there will be a discussion and time for questions.
"And So I Walked is an appealingly straightforward journal of putting one foot in front of the other for 500 miles of spiritual and personal pursuit."
