This gathering offers a space for connection and healing as we continue to walk alongside the Los Angeles community in its recovery from the recent wildfires. Through shared reading and dialogue, we’ll explore how grief shapes us and how we can carry it with strength, compassion, and grace.
What to Expect:
- A brief welcome and shared reflection on the book
- Breakout group discussions (depending on attendance)
- Community connection, insight, and support
The discussion will be facilitated by Dr. Cynthia Meyersburg, PhD ’10, a distinguished psychologist and educator whose work bridges rigorous scientific inquiry with compassionate mentorship. As a Lecturer in Extension at Harvard University’s Division of Continuing Education, she teaches courses on Grief, Loss and Legacy, Motivation, Pseudoscience and Mental Health, Schizophrenia, and Applied Clinical Psychology. Dr. Meyersburg brings both depth and empathy to conversations about loss, drawing on her extensive knowledge of the psychological, cultural, and emotional dimensions of grief. Her facilitation invites honest reflection, thoughtful dialogue, and a shared exploration of how we move forward with strength and meaning.
