A private tour with lunch of the Salk Institute including presentations by some of the researchers working there. The Salk Institute for Biological Studies was founded in 1960 by Jonas Salk. The Institute employs 850 researchers in 60 research groups and focuses its research in three areas: molecular biology and genetics; neurosciences; and plant biology.

It is housed in a complex designed by architect Louis Kahn that is considered one of the great monuments of modern architecture. The structures were built to both facilitate interaction among the scientists working there and also inspire them with the grandeur of both the building and the magnificent site overlooking the Pacific.
