Issues in Education--Where is American education heading?

Join fellow Harvard alumni to discuss issues in education, specific and general. Come to a potluck luncheon at the home of Priscilla and Michael Heim to voice your opinion and meet others interested in the current state of education.

Saturday, October 27, 2012 @ 12:30pm - 2:30pm
Home of  Priscilla and Michael Heim, 500 Levering Ave., Los Angeles CA 90024 (parking up the street)

Come to an Educators’ Roundtable Saturday, Oct 27, at the home of Michael and Priscilla Heim, to discuss the goals of American education over a pot-luck luncheon.  We have addressed evaluation of teachers and students, faced racism in the schools, considered the role universities play in their local schools, questioned the expectations of schools of education, etc.  But let us not lose sight of the future American education hopes to construct.  Harvard, through the centuries the high standard for education and a model for community concern, continues to scrutinize education and its goals.   Let this grass-roots concern, that is our discussion, contribute to the conversation.

Patricia Danaher, writer, film critic, Kennedy School graduate will moderate.

Cost: Free (I hope to see you there.  Bring a dish, or just come!)
