This will be a chance to  experience the beauty of thoroughbreds performing in a beautiful setting with the San Gabriel Mountains as a backdrop. The $60 cost includes lunch, excellent seating and an entertaining explanation of the sport and its wagering by handicapper Ty Alexander, who will inform us of the Strategy Aspects of Betting.

For decades horse racing was the only legal form of gambling outside of Nevada and Atlantic City. Horse racing is unique in that deciphering the intricacies of pari-mutuel wagering is encouraged, not discouraged, as is most casino gambling. There's far more to horse racing than just the graceful animals circling the track. With the right combination of skill and luck, maybe you too will be able to purchase the crown that goes with the "Sport of Kings" (and Queens).

Deadline to register is November 1st. Tickets are sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

Cost: $60 per person
