Issues in Education - Educators’ Roundtable - Diversity and Inclusion

Join fellow Harvard alumni for this exciting event. Educator's Roundtables have brought seminal issues in today's education to the attention of the Harvard community and allowed the free-wheeling conversation this community fosters to occur.

Saturday, March 28, 2015 @ 12:00-2:30pm
Home of Priscilla Heim, 500 Levering Ave., Los Angeles CA 90024 (parking up the street)

Among the stress-creating pressures visited upon today's student from K to 12--and just as much in the university--group pressure has power. We worry about the increasing stress from test scores and entrance requirements, but early interaction with various groups may evolve from support to a different kind of need, while events in the outside world leak into the emotional well-being of parent and eventually child alike.

Come to a pot-luck luncheon and discuss the sometimes hidden stresses experienced by today's students at Priscilla Heim's house. Anthropologist, UCLA Professor and Vice Chancellor, former Harvard Professor Claudia Mitchell-Kernan will moderate the discussion.

Everybody welcome. Come and air your views!

Cost: Contribution to a pot-luck luncheon.
