Join fellow alumni to enjoy award-winning musician and Harvard professor Vijay Iyer, who will kick off his residency at USC with an intimate solo piano performance at Newman Recital Hall.

In conjunction with USC Thornton’s Music@RushHour weekly concert series, award-winning composer, pianist, and Harvard professor Vijay Iyer will lead a public masterclass titled “Musicmaking Forum: Creativity, Collaboration, Community.”

This event is presented by the HADPRT (HAA Disaster Preparedness and Response Team) Board. Drawing on practical tools and insights, the talk will focus on how to maintain emotional and mental well-being amidst both local and global stressors.

This session will dig into new research investigating the underlying causes of loneliness, including the relationship between mental health challenges and loneliness, and share ideas for beating it on college campuses and in many other communities.

Prof. Avi Loeb will discuss his current research on recently discovered anomalous interstellar objects. Is space trash from extraterrestrial technological civilizations lurking among natural interstellar rocks?
